24,784 Students Absent, Seven Expelled on First Day of HSC Exams
A total of 24,784 candidates were absent across the country on the first day of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations, according to data released by the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee on Thursday afternoon (July 2). Furthermore, seven students were expelled for adopting unfair means during the examinations.
Under the nine general education boards, 8,38,864 candidates appeared for the Bangla First Paper examination today. Among the registered students, 17,233 were absent. Five candidates were expelled for cheating—two from the Jashore Board, and one each from the Cumilla, Dinajpur, and Mymensingh boards.
Under the Madrasah Education Board, 80,653 candidates took part in the Alim examination on the Quran Majid subject, while 4,478 students remained absent. One student was expelled from this board.
Meanwhile, under the Technical Education Board, 80,603 candidates sat for the Bangla-II examination, with 3,073 students absent and one student expelled.
