Dhaka University’s Fine Arts Unit Admission Notice: Full Details

The University of Dhaka (DU) has published the admission notice for its undergraduate programmes for the 2025-26 academic year. The announcement was made on Monday (20 October) via the university’s official website. Online applications will commence at 12:00 PM on 29 October and conclude at 11:59 PM on 16 November.

According to the notice signed by Acting Registrar Munshi Shamsuddin Ahmad, only students who passed their Secondary School Certificate (SSC) or equivalent examinations between 2020 and 2023, and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or equivalent examinations in 2025, and meet the specified eligibility criteria for various units, will be eligible to apply for admission to the undergraduate programmes for the 2025-26 academic year. Notably, there will be no provision for second-time candidates to appear for the admission test this year.

The Faculty of Fine Arts offers a total of 130 seats across eight departments. Students from all streams—Science, Humanities, and Business Studies—are eligible to apply for this unit. Here’s a detailed look at the ‘F’ Unit admission process and requirements.

Marks Distribution for ‘F’ Unit Admission Test: The admission test will carry a total of 100 marks.

  • Subjects Covered: The Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) section (40 marks) will include questions on general knowledge, covering Bangla, English, and topics related to various departments of the Fine Arts Faculty, as well as art, literature, culture, history, heritage, and contemporary events. The practical section (60 marks) will focus on drawing (figure drawing).

The final result will be calculated out of 120 marks, with 20 marks allocated based on the GPA of SSC and HSC examinations.

Application Fee and Process: The application fee for the Fine Arts Unit is Tk 1,250 (one thousand two hundred fifty). The admission test is scheduled for 29 November 2025. Candidates can pay the fee through any branch of four state-owned commercial banks (Sonali, Janata, Agrani, Rupali) or online using debit/credit cards or mobile financial services.
