Government to Provide Tk 25,000 Monthly for PhD Researchers, Applications Open

The government has announced a fellowship program for PhD researchers under the Prime Minister’s Education Assistance Trust for the 2025-26 fiscal year. Applications are now open for PhD students enrolled in public universities across Bangladesh, with a deadline of April 17, 2026.
According to a notification from the Prime Minister’s Education Assistance Trust, the fellowship offers a monthly stipend of Tk 25,000 to support PhD candidates. The application process began on March 16, 2025, and is open to researchers pursuing PhD programs in public universities.
The fellowship covers a wide range of disciplines, including Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities, Business Education, Marine Science, Law, Physical Sciences, Engineering and Technology, Biological Sciences, Education and Development, Medical Sciences, Fine Arts and Crafts, Agricultural Sciences, and Religious Education.
Eligibility and Application Requirements
Applicants must have at least two first divisions in their academic career (equivalent to a minimum GPA of 3.50 on a 5.0 scale or 3.00 on a 4.0 scale). The maximum age limit for applicants is 45 years as of the application submission date. Required documents include certified copies of all academic certificates and transcripts, proof of PhD enrollment and registration, a research proposal, and a recommendation letter from the department head.
Applicants must complete an online application form, download it, and submit two sets of the form along with all required documents either in person or by post to the Prime Minister’s Education Assistance Trust, House No. 44, Road No. 12/A, Dhanmondi, Dhaka-1209, by the deadline during office hours. Candidates employed in government, semi-government, or autonomous organizations must include a copy of approval from their respective authorities.
The authorities reserve the right to cancel or modify the notification and to accept or reject any application.
