College Girl Gang-Raped While Out with Boyfriend in Dhaka

A 16-year-old college girl was gang-raped after going out with her boyfriend in Nayanogor area of Bhatara, Dhaka. The accused reportedly recorded the incident on video. Following a case filed late Saturday night, police arrested two teenagers within five hours of an operation on Sunday.

According to details, the HSC student from a local college left home around 11:00 a.m. on 8 March with her 17-year-old boyfriend. They eventually went to a flat on the second floor of Philip Villa in Nayanogor. Inside, the boyfriend raped her on the pretext of marriage and then took Tk 1,000 from her purse before leaving.

At that moment, one of his friends entered the room and informed her that he had recorded the rape on video. Threatening to circulate the footage on social media, he also raped her.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bhatara Police Station Imaul Haque told The Daily Campus: “A college girl was gang-raped while out with her boyfriend. A case was filed late Saturday night under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act and the Pornography Control Act. Around 5:30 a.m. on Sunday, two teenagers involved in the rape were arrested from B-Block in Saidnagar, Bhatara. They have been sent to court.”
