Education Minister Approves MPO Teacher Transfer Software; Data Collection After Eid
Education Minister Dr. A N M Ehsanul Haque Milon has expressed satisfaction with the transfer software developed for MPO-listed teachers in non-government educational institutions. Data collection from the field level will begin after the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr, according to sources.
The decision came during a meeting held today, Monday (16 March), in the ministry’s conference room to demonstrate the demo of the transfer software. The meeting was presided over by Secretary of the Secondary and Higher Education Division Abdul Khaleque. Education Minister Dr. A N M Ehsanul Haque Milon, Secretary of the Technical and Madrasah Education Division Muhammad Rafiqul Islam, and other senior officials from the ministry and directorates were present.
An unnamed ministry official present at the meeting told The Daily Campus: “Everyone expressed satisfaction with the demo of the transfer software. After the upcoming Eid, Maushi will start collecting data from the field level. Following that, the transfer process for teachers and staff will begin.”
The official further said: “In the meeting, the Education Minister directed that principals, assistant principals, and MPO-listed staff (কর্মচারী) should also be brought under the transfer scope. Teletalk has been instructed to incorporate these provisions into the transfer module. This will be revised after Eid.”
Background
- Previously, only regular index-holding teachers could change institutions through NTRCA public notifications (up to the third round).
- The facility was discontinued from the fourth round onward.
- Following long-standing demands and protests by teachers, the ministry prepared a revised transfer policy and developed dedicated software in collaboration with Teletalk.
- Earlier confusion arose when initial drafts did not clearly include principals, assistant principals, and staff — leading to rumours and Facebook posts claiming they were excluded.
- Today’s meeting and the minister’s directive have now confirmed their inclusion.
The software trial was reported satisfactory, and once final approval is given (likely soon after the demo review), the first transfer round under the new policy is expected to follow Eid.
