'My feelings for Shahidul are echoed worldwide': Rahnuma Ahmed
Rahnuma Ahmed has said she never felt alone in her concern, knowing that Shahidul Alam, her husband, has been detained by Israeli forces.
"My feelings for Shahidul – of love and concern, of pride and fury, of shared anger and resistance – are echoed by so many at home and abroad, that I have never ever felt alone," the writer, columnist and director of Drik Picture Library said in a message to *Stream*.
"Neither does he, I know. No one in Conscience was armed, they were only media & medics & crew carrying messages of love & solidarity for suffering Palestinians, and Israel knows it. The *Conscience* was intercepted and all on board were abducted because Israel wants to continue the siege on Gaza, it is an integral part of its genocide. Humanity resides in Gaza. For the rest of the world to retrieve our humanity, we must reach its shores, Palestine must be freed."
On Wednesday morning, Bangladeshi photographer and writer Shahidul Alam uploaded a video on his Facebook, saying the flotilla he was on was intercepted at sea and that he was kidnapped by Israeli forces.
Shahidul was part of the Freedom Flotilla Coalition carrying humanitarian aid to the people of the Gaza Strip, which has been under relentless attack from Israel for the last two years.
