A 10-member expert committee of the University Grants Commission (UGC) has assessed the rationale and feasibility of launching nine departments under five faculties at the University of Bogura, with the institution aiming to begin academic activities in the 2026-27 academic year.

The committee conducted an on-site inspection on Tuesday (October 13) to review the need for the proposed departments, preparations for launching academic activities and the availability of relevant facilities.

The team was led by Professor Dr Abdullah-Al-Mamun, the UGC member in charge of its Public University Management Division. It examined the justification and feasibility of opening the proposed departments.
