The Hungarian Government’s prestigious Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme is open to Bangladeshi students for the 2025/2026 academic year, offering fully funded opportunities to pursue bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral studies at renowned Hungarian universities. This scholarship covers tuition fees, provides a monthly stipend of up to BDT 46,000, and includes accommodation support, making it an attractive option for aspiring scholars.

Programme Overview

Launched in 2013, the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme promotes the internationalisation of Hungarian higher education and fosters academic and cultural ties with over 90 partner countries, including Bangladesh. The programme, managed by the Tempus Public Foundation, supports students in English-taught programmes across diverse fields, from humanities to technology. Graduates return home with marketable skills, strengthening bilateral relations between Hungary and Bangladesh.

Why Choose Hungary?

Located in Central Europe, Hungary offers a vibrant cultural experience and a robust academic environment. Its universities, such as the BME, University of Debrecen, are recognised for their high standards and research opportunities. The country’s rich history and membership in the European Union since 2004 enhance its appeal as a study destination.

Application Process

Bangladeshi students must apply through the Bangladesh Ministry of Education portal. Applicants need to submit academic transcripts, certificates, a police clearance certificate, and proof of English proficiency. Incomplete applications may lead to disqualification, so students should ensure all documents are complete.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility varies by programme level:

  • Undergraduate: Applicants must have completed their Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC), be at least 18 years old, and have a minimum GPA (e.g., 8-10, depending on the programme).
  • Master’s and Doctoral: Relevant academic qualifications and, for PhD applicants, research experience or publications may be required.
