MPO Teachers' House Rent Allowance Increasing

Amid ongoing protests by MPO-enlisted teachers and employees working in private educational institutions, the interim government is set to increase their house rent allowance to 15% of the basic salary. However, they will receive this amount in two phases.

This decision was reached during a meeting on Tuesday between Education Adviser Professor CR Abrar and the protesting teacher leaders.

An official from the ministry present at the meeting told The Daily Campus that during the current fiscal year, teachers and employees will receive 7.5% of their basic salary as house rent allowance. The remaining 7.5% will take effect from the next fiscal year. The Finance Ministry will soon issue a gazette notification on the matter.
