The Directorate of Primary Education (DPE) has officially published the results of the assistant teacher recruitment written examination for government primary schools. A total of 69,265 candidates have been provisionally selected for the viva voce (oral examination).

The announcement was made late Wednesday (January 21) night through a press release signed by the Director General of DPE. The results follow the written test held on January 9 across 61 districts (excluding the three hill districts).

Why the Viva Date is Not Finalized

While the written result is out, the timeline for the oral exam remains unclear due to the current national political landscape.

  • Consultation with DCs: The DPE must coordinate with District Commissioners (DCs) to set the schedule. However, DCs are currently heavily engaged in preparations for the 13th National Parliamentary Election.

  • DPE’s Stance: A.K. Mohammad Shamsul Ahsan, Director (Policy and Operation) of DPE, told The Daily Campus that discussions are ongoing. "The viva date is not finalized yet. Once decided, it will be announced via an official notification," he said.

  • Election Overlap: There are internal doubts within the Ministry regarding whether permission to hold exams will be granted so close to the national elections.

Important Instructions for Selected Candidates

The DPE has outlined several key conditions and next steps for the 69,265 successful candidates:

  1. Temporary Result: This result is provisional and serves only as eligibility for the viva voce; it does not guarantee final employment.

  2. Notification Method: The venue, date, and time for the viva will be posted on the websites and notice boards of the respective District Primary Education Offices.

  3. Final Selection Criteria: The final merit list will be prepared by combining scores from both the written and oral exams, strictly following the Government Primary School Teacher Recruitment Regulations, 2025.

  4. Verification: Any candidate found to have provided false information or hidden facts will have their candidacy canceled at any stage.

Candidates are advised to regularly monitor the official websites of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education and the Directorate of Primary Education for updates on the viva schedule.
