Dhaka University’s (DU) residential hall crisis and the need to improve food quality have prompted a call from BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, urging Chatra Dal to engage directly with students and prepare a written proposal. In a video message posted on Facebook on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at noon, he made this appeal.
In the video, Tarique Rahman said, “I have spoken directly with Chatra Dal leaders, activists, and some students at Dhaka University. Addressing the residential crisis by improving living conditions in the halls and enhancing food quality is extremely urgent.”
He further stated, “I call upon Dhaka University Chatra Dal leaders and activists to talk directly with students, identify the existing problems in the halls, and present a written proposal to BNP for solutions.”
He added that instructions have already been given to Chatra Dal leaders and activists to engage with teachers and students at other universities across the country, prepare reports with recommendations addressing the problems and possibilities at those institutions, and submit them to BNP.
