First Rain in Dhaka During This Ramadan

Rain is falling in Dhaka and various parts of the country today during Ramadan. Earlier, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) had forecasted rain or thundershowers in some areas of Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions. In other parts of the country, the weather is likely to remain mainly dry with partly cloudy skies.

This information was provided in the weather forecast issued at 9:00 am on Monday (2 March) for the next 24 hours.

Daytime temperatures across the country are expected to remain nearly unchanged. Night temperatures may decrease slightly.

The extended ridge of a low-pressure area lies over West Bengal and adjoining areas. The normal seasonal low lies over South Bay of Bengal, with its extended ridge reaching up to the northeast Bay of Bengal.

Yesterday (Sunday), the highest temperature in the country was recorded at 34°C in Kumarkhali, Khulna. Today, the lowest temperature was recorded at 16.3°C in Rangpur. At 6:00 am in Dhaka, relative humidity was 84%. Wind in Dhaka is likely to blow from the west or northwest at a speed of up to 8–12 km/h.
