BCB President Firm on Zero Tolerance Policy for BPL

With the 12th Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) set to kick off in December, the spotlight has shifted to players accused of spot-fixing in the previous edition. Cricket circles are buzzing about whether they will feature in the upcoming tournament. BCB president Mohammad Aminul Islam Bulbul addressed the issue directly while speaking to journalists, maintaining a firm stance.
Bulbul said, "We haven't budged an inch. No reports have been suppressed—nothing like that. The outcome, punishment, suspension—whatever it is, they will face it. We've given the committee full authority. A committee is working on it. Since the process is ongoing, I don't want to comment now. I can't reveal names. But they are working."
On the Jahangir issue, the BCB chief reiterated, "BCB's stand is within the zero tolerance framework. It might fall within that time frame. We're not influencing those handling it. (Regarding women directors in BCB) Women's cricket always feels neglected. I said in the press conference on the 7th after becoming president that we have no female directors and no women in the women's wing. We have targets. I don't have the power to change the constitution. If it can be changed, I'd be delighted to have a few female directors. The courses we'll conduct—exactly that word—we'll use gender equity."
The tournament's draft is scheduled for November 17, with the final potentially on January 16. The schedule is tailored around the T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.
