Prime Minister Tarique Rahman shared a heartfelt moment with students from Dhaka Residential Model College (DRMC) who visited the National Parliament to observe the session today (April 30). During the exchange, the Prime Minister grew emotional as he reminisced about his own time at the institution.

Addressing the visiting students, the Prime Minister said, "I was a student of Dhaka Residential Model College myself. My younger brother, the late Arafat Rahman Koko, was also a student of this prestigious institution."

The Prime Minister appeared deeply moved while interacting with the young visitors, engaging in open conversation and smiling as he provided autographs and posed for photographs.

Approximately 150 students, ranging from Class 6 to Class 11, visited the Parliament as part of an educational initiative. The students were seated in the Oath Room of the Parliament Building, where they were given a brief presentation on the architectural significance of the building and the intricate process of lawmaking in Bangladesh.

In his speech to the students, the Prime Minister and Leader of the House wished them success in their future endeavors, encouraging them to play a pivotal role in nation-building. Education Minister Dr. A. N. M. Ehsanul Haq Milan was also present during the interaction.

The visit is part of a broader effort to inspire patriotism and provide practical knowledge about the legislative process to the younger generation. At the request of the Education Minister, the Speaker of the Parliament allocated 150 seats—including 50 specifically designated for children—to facilitate regular student visits.

Since the Prime Minister was scheduled to deliver a speech in the House today, he specially invited students from his alma mater through the Education Minister to witness the proceedings firsthand. This initiative aims to bridge the gap between the country's leadership and its future citizens, fostering a deeper understanding of democratic governance.
