NTRCA to retain teacher recruitment system, previous rules reinstated

The government has decided to retain the existing system of recruiting entry-level teachers through the Non-Government Teachers’ Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA), scrapping an earlier decision to change the examination process. Candidates will again have to obtain registration certificates through preliminary, written and MCQ examinations.

The decision was taken at a meeting held at the Ministry of Education on Tuesday (September 1). The meeting was chaired by Secondary and Higher Education Division Secretary Abdul Khaleque. NTRCA Chairman Alif Rudaba, Secondary and Higher Education Division Joint Secretary Helaluzzaman Sarker and other relevant officials attended the meeting.

A meeting participant, speaking on condition of anonymity, told The Daily Campus that the teacher recruitment and registration examinations would be conducted as before.

“The teacher recruitment or registration examination will be held as before. The earlier decision has been cancelled. A circular to this effect will be issued soon,” the official said.

The decision means NTRCA will continue to play the central role in recruiting teachers at the entry level in non-government educational institutions. Candidates will have to complete the preliminary, written and MCQ stages to obtain registration certification.
