The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has announced a reduction in the retail price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). The price of a 12kg LPG cylinder has been lowered by Tk 3, now set at Tk 1,270, effective from Tuesday evening, September 2, 2025. Additionally, the price of autogas used in vehicles has been reduced by Tk 0.13 per liter, now fixed at Tk 58.15.

According to BERC’s new pricing, private LPG, inclusive of VAT, is set at Tk 105.87 per kg. Prices for various sizes of LPG cylinders will be adjusted accordingly. The price of a 12.5kg LPG cylinder supplied by state-owned companies remains unchanged at Tk 825.

This follows a previous reduction in August 2025, when the price of a 12kg cylinder was cut by Tk 91 to Tk 1,273, and autogas was lowered by Tk 4.18 to Tk 58.28 per liter.

BERC adjusts LPG prices monthly in alignment with the international market, based on the prices of propane and butane set by Saudi Aramco. The commission began regulating LPG prices in April 2021.
