SSC Candidates Forced to Lift Feet Above Water in Flooded Exam Hall
Candidates appearing for the ongoing Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations at the Comilla Ishwar Pathshala High School center faced extreme hardship today as rainwater flooded their examination halls. On Tuesday (April 28), students were seen writing their scripts while sitting with their feet tucked up on their benches to avoid the water logging.
In a scene that highlights the severity of the situation, even the invigilator on duty was observed sitting with her feet raised on her chair as water submerged the floor of the room after 12:00 PM.

Examinees reported that the sudden accumulation of water inside the classrooms created a chaotic and uncomfortable environment. Many stated they were forced to adopt awkward seating positions on top of their benches just to keep their feet dry and protect their answer scripts from the rising water.
According to local sources, the center is prone to such waterlogging even after minor rainfall due to an inadequate drainage system. This recurring issue has become a significant source of distress for students during every public examination season.

The Deputy Controller of Examinations (Secondary) of the Comilla Education Board, Md. Kabir Uddin Ahmed, confirmed the incident to The Daily Campus. "We are aware of the waterlogging at the Ishwar Pathshala High School center and have contacted the relevant authorities. Rainwater entered several rooms on the ground floor," he stated.
He further noted that instructions were immediately given to shift the students from the affected rooms. "Discussions are ongoing with the Center Secretary and the District Administration. We have not yet made a final decision on whether future exams will be held in different rooms of the same school or if the candidates will be relocated to a completely different center. A decision will be finalized quickly after consulting with the higher authorities," Kabir Uddin added.
