The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) has officially launched the long-awaited transfer software for teachers and staff working in non-government educational institutions.

The software went live on Tuesday (21 April) afternoon, confirmed DSHE Deputy Director (Secondary) Yunus Faruqi.

A senior official from the Education Ministry, requesting anonymity, told The Daily Campus that the software is now operational. Data collection from teachers at the field level is expected to begin this week. Earlier, a ministry source had indicated that after signing new agreements, data entry for teachers and employees would start in mid-April.

Joint Secretary (Private Secondary) Md. Helaluzzaman Sarkar of the Secondary and Higher Education Division said, “Some new features will be added to the software. We hope to begin entering teacher and staff data by mid-April.”

New Agreements Required
DSHE sources said new contracts are necessary because principals, assistant principals, and staff will now be brought under the transfer policy. Without fresh agreements, the process would be irregular. The ministry has decided to complete these new contracts soon.

The software will be updated to include principals and staff after the new contracts are signed. The vendor has demanded an additional Tk 20–25 lakh for these updates.

A DSHE official, requesting anonymity, said, “The meeting on transfers was fruitful. Several positive decisions were taken. We will soon complete the new contracts and start entering teacher data into the software.”

The launch of the transfer software is expected to bring much-needed transparency and efficiency to the long-pending demand for teacher transfers in non-government institutions.
