Ahead of the upcoming SSC examinations, Education and Primary & Mass Education Minister Dr. A N M Ehsanul Haque Milon has declared a zero-tolerance policy against cheating and irregularities. He warned that if any centre is found involved in malpractice, action will be taken not only against the students but also against the teachers and officials on duty.

The minister said the government is fully committed to conducting this year’s SSC examinations completely free from cheating and question leaks. No form of irregularity will be tolerated, and those responsible will face departmental action.

He also announced that from this year, there will be no provision for awarding “grace marks” or compensatory marks in answer scripts. Students will be evaluated strictly based on what they write. This decision has been taken to ensure a genuine assessment of merit, he added.

To maintain transparency, CCTV cameras will be installed at high-risk centres and kept under special monitoring. There is a plan to make CCTV mandatory at all centres in phases. Surprise inspections by helicopter teams may also be conducted if necessary, as in previous years.

According to the Education Ministry, a “zero tolerance” policy has been adopted for both SSC and HSC examinations across the country. Special attention will be given to centres in remote, char, coastal, and hilly areas. No leniency will be shown during script evaluation either.

The ministry has already asked all education boards to submit lists of high-risk centres. These centres will have live monitoring in addition to CCTV. Any abnormality detected by the central control room will lead to immediate action.

To prevent question leaks and digital fraud, security has been strengthened at every stage from question paper printing to distribution. The entire process is being brought under digital tracking.

It is worth noting that under the new government, the SSC and equivalent examinations are scheduled to begin on 21 April.
