Junior Scholarship Exam Starts Today, Students Must Follow 6 Special Instructions

The Junior Scholarship Examination for Class 8 students is resuming after 12 long years and will begin today (Sunday). The test will start at 10:00 am and continue till 1:00 pm. The examination will continue till 31 December.

This year, the examination carries a total of 400 marks across five subjects. The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has issued six special instructions for the examinees, which must be strictly followed.

Routine of the Examination

Every day from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm

  • Bangla (101) – 28 December, Sunday
  • English (107) – 29 December, Monday
  • Mathematics (109) – 30 December, Tuesday
  • Science (127) and Bangladesh and Global Studies (150) – 31 December, Wednesday

Six Special Instructions Issued by DSHE

  1. Entry into the examination hall — Candidates must take their respective seats at least 30 minutes before the examination starts.
  2. Two-subject examination — The examination must be conducted according to the time mentioned in the question paper. Science subject carries 1 hour 30 minutes and Bangladesh and Global Studies also carries 1 hour 30 minutes, making a total of 3 hours.
  3. OMR form filling — Candidates must first write their examination roll number, registration number, subject code, etc. on the OMR answer sheet and then fill in the corresponding circles.
  4. Answer sheet — The answer sheet must not be folded under any circumstances.
  5. Calculator usage — Examinees are allowed to use only eight specified models of scientific non-programmable calculators for the Junior Scholarship Examination 2025. General calculators are also permitted. The Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board sent a notification on Monday (22 December) listing the approved models to centre secretaries and concerned authorities. The approved models are: FX 82 MS, FX 100 MS, FX 570 MS, FX 991 MS, FX 991 EX, FX 991 ES, FX 991 PLUS, FX 991 CW.
  6. Mobile phone ban — No one except the centre secretary is allowed to bring or keep mobile phones or any electronic devices inside the examination centre.
