Iran Offers to End War on 3 Conditions
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has stated that there is a path to ending the ongoing war, outlining three specific conditions that must be met by Israel and the United States.
In a post on social media platform X on Thursday (12 March), Pezeshkian detailed the conditions for halting the conflict:
- Recognition of Iran’s “legitimate rights.”
- Payment of compensation for damages.
- Strong international guarantees ensuring no future attacks on Iran.
He further stated that during discussions with the leaders of Russia and Pakistan, he reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to regional peace.
Pezeshkian emphasized that the only way to end the war—started due to the “Zionist regime” and the United States—is through recognition of Iran’s legitimate rights, provision of compensation, and robust international assurances to prevent future aggression.
Deutsche Welle (DW) also reported on the matter under the headline “Iran Demands Compensation as Condition to End War.”
The conflict escalated on 28 February when Israel and the United States launched attacks on various targets in Iran, including strikes on naval assets in the Persian Gulf and beyond. These attacks resulted in the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
In response, Iran has carried out retaliatory strikes on U.S. bases in the region, conducted indiscriminate attacks in Gulf countries, the Middle East, and the Caucasus, and blocked the Strait of Hormuz.
