Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian Rejects Resignation Rumors as 'Pure Lies'

A senior official from the Iranian Presidential Office has dismissed circulating reports regarding the resignation of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, calling them "complete nonsense and pure lies".

Addressing the widespread rumors in a post on X (formerly Twitter), Seyed Mehdi Tabatabaei, Deputy Head of Communications and Information at the Office of the President, wrote: "An unholy coalition of liars, deceivers, and reckless extremists has targeted sacred unity and national solidarity."

The official denial follows public comments made by Iranian cleric Mohammad Bagher Kharazi, who claimed that Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei warned that "if Pezeshkian resigns again," his resignation would be accepted. The report gained rapid traction across Iranian news media and social media platforms.

Meanwhile, according to BBC Persian, Iranian media broadcast excerpts of a video address by President Masoud Pezeshkian, in which he directly refuted the speculation, stating: "I will not resign and I will stand firm."

In his video statement, President Pezeshkian added, "We are in full communication and coordination with the military forces."
