Gold Price Increased by Tk 2,216 per Bhori

Gold prices have escalated once again in the domestic market, with the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) increasing the price of gold jewelry by up to BDT 2,216 per bhori, inclusive of VAT.

The revised tariffs officially came into effect at 10:00 AM on Monday (July 27), according to an official notification issued by BAJUS.

The decision was finalized following a meeting of the BAJUS Standing Committee on Price Determination and Price Monitoring held at 9:00 AM, after analyzing prevailing market dynamics in the local bullion sector.

Under the newly adjusted tariff schedule, high-quality 22-carat gold jewelry will now cost BDT 223,074 per bhori (11.664 grams), marking an increase from its previous rate of BDT 220,858.

The price breakdown across different categories stands as follows:

• 21-Carat Gold: BDT 213,043 per bhori

• 18-Carat Gold: BDT 182,950 per bhori

• Traditional Method Gold: BDT 149,474 per bhori

In tandem with gold, silver prices have also been revised upward. Under the new rate structure, a bhori of 22-carat silver will now sell for BDT 4,666, while 21-carat silver has been priced at BDT 4,549 per bhori. The updated prices for 18-carat and traditional-method silver stand at BDT 3,907 and BDT 2,974 per bhori, respectively.
