The National Equipment Identity Register (NEIR) has officially gone live today, Thursday (1 January). Through this system, newly connected illegitimate handsets will come under the process of being blocked.

You can now easily find out from home how many mobile phones are registered under your National ID (NID). At the same time, you can also check whether your mobile handset is legally registered. Users can verify the registration status of their phone in a few simple steps, and in some cases without needing an internet connection.

How to Check How Many Mobiles Are Registered Under Your NID

Follow these steps:

  1. First, visit this website.
  2. On the homepage, click on the Registration menu in the top right corner. The registration form will appear.
  3. Fill in the detailed information to complete registration. Important: Do not use any spaces when entering your name. Also, use only lowercase letters and numbers for the User ID. If you have a 10-digit NID number, select the Smart ID option. If you have a 13- or 17-digit number, select the NID option.
  4. After registration is complete, log in. You will then see detailed information on the homepage.

How to Check If Your Handset Is Registered/Legitimate

If you want to check whether your handset is registered, after logging in, look on the left side of the website. There you will find the option “Check Your Phone’s Verification Status Instantly”. Enter your phone’s IMEI number and click the button. It will show whether your phone is legitimate. To find your handset’s IMEI number, dial *#06# on your mobile.

Additional Information
