Self-Staged Kidnapping Drama by Tongi Imam Unraveled
The mystery of the kidnapping of Mufti Mohibullah Miyaji (60), imam of Jam-e Mosque in Tongi’s T&A Colony, Gazipur, has been solved. Investigations reveal a shocking twist: the entire incident was a self-orchestrated drama by Miyaji himself.
Police said he was not abducted; rather, he staged the whole affair. A senior officer involved in the probe told The Daily Campus that Miyaji had chained his own feet and lay in that position to present it as a kidnapping.
CCTV footage from the time and location he claimed the abduction occurred showed no evidence of any such incident.
Known on social media as "Maulana Mufti Muhibbullah Madani," Miyaji had claimed that on October 22 around 7:00am, he was picked up in an ambulance from near a CNG filling station in Tongi’s Shilmundi area. The next day, he said he was rescued from Panchagarh in a bound state and informed the media himself. He also alleged receiving multiple threat letters beforehand and enduring torture after the abduction.
However, CCTV analysis shared on social media by Zulkarnain Saer on Tuesday morning showed no kidnapping took place at the specified time and spot.
Police described it as a "self-staged kidnapping drama," with motives still unclear. Investigators are probing potential psychological and personal factors.
The revelation has caused a stir in the area, leaving everyone with one question: Why did Mufti Muhibbullah Miyaji stage this drama? Law enforcers are seeking answers.
