"Medical-dental admission test result to be published within two hours"
The meeting regarding the publication of the results of the admission test for the 2025-26 academic session in government and private medical and dental colleges across the country is still ongoing.
The meeting started after noon today Sunday (14 December) and is continuing. Information about the result publication will be known at least one hour after the meeting ends, said Director (Medical Education) of the Directorate General of Health Education Professor Dr Mahiuddin Matubbar.
Talking to The Daily Campus around 3:30 pm on Sunday while attending the meeting, Professor Dr Mahiuddin Matubbar said, “The meeting may take another hour to conclude. I hope we will be able to publish the results after that.”
Sources said the Director General (DG) of the Directorate General of Health Education along with concerned officials are attending the meeting. Special Assistant of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Professor Dr Sayedur Rahman is also present. Besides, the Secretary of Health Education, two joint secretaries, DG of the directorate, ADG (Medical Education), Director (Medical Education) and representatives from the Computer Science departments of BUET and DU are attending.
Earlier on Sunday morning, Additional Director General (Medical Education) of the Directorate General of Health Education Professor Dr Rubina Yasmin told The Daily Campus, “The final time for publishing the medical and dental admission test results has not yet been fixed. However, we hope to publish it around noon. Once published, it will be informed on the website. Successful students will also get to know.”
Later in the afternoon, Additional Director General and Member Secretary of the Admission Management Committee Professor Dr Rubina Yasmin said the medical result may be published within a couple of hours. Confirming the matter to The Daily Campus, she said, “The Directorate General of Health Education is working towards that goal.”
Director General (DG) of the directorate Professor Dr Nazmul Hossain told The Daily Campus on Saturday (13 December) afternoon, “The result preparation work for medical-dental admission test is underway in coordination with the Computer Science departments of BUET and DU. A lot of answer script evaluation work has to be done. We are optimistic about publishing the results after noon on Sunday.”
On Friday (12 December) from 10:00 am to 11:15 am, the MBBS and BDS admission test for the 2025-26 session in government and private medical colleges was held simultaneously at 17 centres and 49 venues across the country. Over 98 per cent students appeared in the test, according to the Directorate General of Health Education. Attendance rate was 98.22 per cent while absence rate was 1.78 per cent.
It may be mentioned that there are a total of 13,051 seats in government and private medical and dental colleges. Of these, there are 5,100 seats in government medical colleges and 545 in dental units.
Private medical colleges have 6,001 seats while dental colleges have 1,405 seats. This year, a total of 1,22,632 candidates applied, of whom 49,028 were boys and 73,604 girls.
