Jagannath University Admission Test to Be MCQ-Based, No Negative Marking
The 2025-26 academic session admission test at Jagannath University (JnU) will be conducted entirely through multiple-choice questions (MCQ). There will be no negative marking, as announced by Professor Dr. Md. Monjur Morshed Bhuiyan, Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies. He said that written tests will no longer be part of JnU's admission process. The decision has been made to adopt MCQ format, without any deduction for wrong answers.
On the subject-wise distribution for different units, he said, “For ‘A’ unit students, Physics and Chemistry will be compulsory, while Biology and Mathematics will be optional—one of the two can be answered.”
“For ‘B’ unit, Bangla, English, and General Knowledge; for ‘C’ unit, English, Mathematical Aptitude, and Accounting-Management, and for students from other groups appearing in this unit, General Knowledge. For ‘D’ unit, Bangla, English, General Knowledge, and Mathematical Aptitude.”
Each unit will have a total of 96 questions, with 0.75 marks allocated per question, the professor informed.
He added, “This year, the admission test will be held in a single shift. There will be no second chance to retake the test. The exam duration is 1 hour. The ‘A’ and ‘B’ unit admission tests will be conducted at Rajshahi University, Comilla University, and Khulna University.”
