DU Admission: Over 1.19 Lakh Applications in First 7 Days, Science Unit Tops
Seven days after the start of the application process for Dhaka University’s (DU) 2025–26 undergraduate program admission tests, more than 1.19 lakh students have applied. The process began on October 29 at 12:00pm and will continue until November 16 at 11:59pm.
According to the Online Admission Committee, applications received so far are:
- Arts, Law & Social Sciences Unit: 43,000
- Science Unit: 53,000
- Business Studies Unit: 15,000
- Fine Arts Unit: 2,100
- IBA Unit: over 4,700
The Science Unit has received the highest number of applications.
Convener of the Online Admission Committee, Professor Dr. Md. Shariful Islam, told The Daily Campus on Tuesday (November 4), “So far, over 1.19 lakh applications have been received. Among them, 43,000 in Arts, Law & Social Sciences Unit, 53,000 in Science Unit, 15,000 in Business Studies Unit, 2,100 in Fine Arts Unit, and over 4,700 for IBA Unit.”
He added, “Students are not facing any major technical problems this time. However, at the beginning, many tried to apply at once, so the system slowed down a bit. Besides, two or three people had payment issues. Those have been resolved. There are no other problems.”
The admission circular, signed by Acting Registrar Munsi Shams Uddin Ahmed, was published on October 20 on the admission website. As per the circular, only students who passed SSC or equivalent between 2020 and 2023 and HSC or equivalent in 2025, and meet the unit-specific conditions set by Dhaka University, can apply for the 2025–26 session.
Applicants can submit applications online until November 16 (Sunday) at 11:59pm. The application fee is Tk 1,050. Students can pay at any branch of the four state-owned commercial banks (Sonali, Janata, Agrani, Rupali) or online using debit/credit card or mobile financial services.
Exam Schedule
As per the schedule:
- Arts, Law & Social Sciences Unit: December 13 (Saturday)
- Science Unit: December 20 (Saturday)
- Business Studies Unit: December 6 (Saturday)
- Fine Arts Unit (General Knowledge & Drawing): November 29 (Saturday)
All exams will be held from 11:00am to 12:30pm.
Additionally, the IBA Unit exam will be held on November 28 (Friday) from 10:00am to 12:00pm.
Exam Centers
Except for Fine Arts Unit and IBA Unit, the admission tests for the other three units will be held in Dhaka and 8 divisional cities:
- Rajshahi University
- Chattogram University
- Barishal University
- Khulna University
- Shahjalal University of Science & Technology
- Bangladesh Agricultural University
- Kabi Nazrul University, Trishal
- Begum Rokeya University
How to Apply
Students must apply through the university’s admission website. After logging in, they need to provide required information online. HSC exam details must be entered.
