Natore Student’s University Dreams in Jeopardy

Jubayer Ibne Al Mahmud, a brilliant student from Natore, has secured admission to six prestigious universities, including Dhaka and Rajshahi, but financial woes threaten his higher education.
Jubayer, son of an autorickshaw driver, Kamruzzaman Imon from Lalpur Upazila, faces a bleak future due to his family’s economic struggles. His father, sidelined for a year after breaking his leg in a road accident, can barely cover medical bills and household expenses. With no land except their home and three children to support—Jubayer, a seventh-grader, and four-year-old Mariyam—Kamruzzaman is overwhelmed. “I’m thrilled at my son’s success, but I can’t afford his studies,” he shared.
Jubayer dreams of becoming a pilot and seeks support to achieve it. Lalpur Degree College’s acting principal, Md. Firoz Hossain praised Jubayer’s talent, noting he topped the upazila in HSC exams. “We helped him during college, but his father’s accident has cut off their income,” Hossain said.
