Five-Member Election Commission Formed for JnU Student Union Polls

It will be JnU's first union election since its founding in 2005

Jagannath University (JnU) authorities have formed a five-member Election Commission to conduct the long-awaited Jagannath University Central Students’ Union (JnUCSU) election.

According to an official order signed by the university's acting registrar, Prof Md Gias Uddin, today, the commission has been formed with the approval of the syndicate under Section 15(1) of the Jagannath University Central Students' Union and Hall Students' Union Formation and Operation Policy 2025.

Prof Dr Mostafa Hasan, chairman of the Department of Social Work, has been appointed as the chief election commissioner.

The assistant election commissioners are Prof Dr Md Shahidul Islam, chairman of the Department of Law; Prof Dr Kaniz Fatema Kakolee, Department of Physics; Prof Dr Md Zulfiker Mahmud, Department of Computer Science and Engineering; and Associate Prof Dr Md Anisur Rahman, Department of Islamic History and Culture.

Notably, this will be the first-ever student union election at Jagannath University since its establishment in 2005.
