The admission process for the 2024-25 academic year in Bangladesh’s government medical colleges is set to commence on February 2, 2025. Successful candidates are required to bring all necessary documents for the process. Students will have the opportunity to apply for migration to other colleges up to three times. The MBBS admission test results were announced on Sunday, January 19, 2025.

Result re-evaluation will begin on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, with a non-refundable fee of BDT 1,000, payable via SMS. The announcement was made in a notification signed by Professor Rubina Yasmin, Additional Director General of the Directorate General of Medical Education (DGME).

According to the notification, the MBBS admission test for the 2024-25 academic year was held on January 17, 2025. Based on the guidelines set by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC), 5,372 candidates have been initially selected for admission to 37 government medical colleges, determined by their scores and preferences. The list of candidates under the tribal quota (code 77) for non-hilly regions will be published later, following verification of relevant certificates by the DGME. The admission period is scheduled from February 2 to February 8, 2025, during office hours.

Local admission committees and medical boards, formed by the respective college principals, will verify candidates’ original certificates and conduct health examinations. Students may apply for migration up to three times, subject to regulations. Failure to provide valid documentation or submission of false information will result in cancellation of admission and legal action.

The notification further stated that candidates can apply for result re-evaluation from January 21 to January 25, 2025, by paying the BDT 1,000 fee via Teletalk SMS. Applicants will be informed of the re-evaluation outcome in due course, and the decision of the DGME’s designated committee will be final.

Re-evaluation Process:

  1. Send an SMS from any Teletalk prepaid mobile to 16222 in the format: `DGME RSC Roll No` (e.g., `DGME RSC 1116000`). A PIN will be provided in the reply.
  2. To confirm payment, send a second SMS to 16222 in the format: `DGME RSC YES PIN` (e.g., `DGME RSC YES 12345678`). A confirmation SMS will be received upon successful payment.
