The Energy and Mineral Resources Division has appealed to the public not to panic or purchase excess fuel, stating that fuel stock and supply remain completely normal throughout the country.

In a press release issued today by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the government said it is procuring the necessary fuel from the international market to ensure uninterrupted supply in line with demand. As a result, there is no possibility of any fuel shortage.

The release warned that petrol, octane, and diesel are highly flammable substances, and storing such fuel privately is extremely dangerous.

It added that strict action is being taken against those involved in illegal hoarding of fuel to make extra profit. Mobile courts led by executive magistrates are operating in every district to prevent such illegal activities.

The government has not increased fuel prices so far, and the public has been urged not to be misled by any rumours.
