Content Creator Ripon Mia Detained by Locals in Netrokona Over Extramarital Affair Allegations

Popular social media content creator Ripon Mia has reportedly been detained by local residents in Netrokona Sadar Upazila following allegations of an extramarital affair, triggering widespread discussion across social media platforms.

The incident occurred on Monday (August 3) night in the South Bishiura Union under Netrokona Sadar Upazila. A video showing Ripon Mia present at a local arbitration (salish) held inside the temporary office of Ward No. 3 BNP under No. 8 South Bishiura Union subsequently went viral on social media.

Claims of Fine and Expulsion Demand

Social media reports claim that allegations arose regarding a relationship between the married content creator and a young woman from a neighboring village. During the local arbitration meeting, present attendees reportedly demanded a fine of Tk 5 lakh and called for Ripon Mia to be expelled from the village.

However, relevant local administrative authorities and law enforcement agencies have not issued any official statement regarding the incident, and the claims could not be independently verified.
