JnU holds emergency meeting on quake fallout: Will the university shut down?
Amid repeated earthquakes jolting Dhaka and other parts of the country, panic grips students at various institutions. In this situation, Jagannath University (JnU) administration has convened an emergency meeting at 1:00pm today (Sunday) to take final decisions on academic activities.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Rezaul Karim confirmed the matter to The Daily Campus on Sunday (23 November). He said: "We have to discuss the earthquake issue and take decisions accordingly. We must ensure students suffer no harm."
He added: "However, we have to take decisions keeping JnUCSU activities in mind. I have called a meeting with all chairmen and deans. Decisions will be made after discussion. Besides, as per yesterday's decision, all classes and exams at Jagannath University remain suspended today."
