3 Medical University Name Amendment Bills Passed in Parliament

Three bills to amend the names of medical universities have been unanimously passed in the Jatiya Sangsad today, Tuesday (7 April).
The session, chaired by Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, began at 10:30 AM. The following bills were passed:
- Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (Amendment) Bill 2026
- Sheikh Hasina Medical University Khulna (Amendment) Bill 2026
- Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Medical University Sylhet (Amendment) Bill 2026
Health Minister Sardar Mohammad Shakhawat Hossain and Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed moved the bills on behalf of the government. All three bills were passed through voice vote without any amendments.
These amendments aim to revise the official names of the respective universities.
