The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has announced another reduction in the price of gold in the local market. This time, the price of 22-carat gold per tola (11.664 grams) has been lowered by Tk 5,482 to Tk 2,41,445.

The new rates, effective from 10:00 a.m. today (Wednesday, 25 March), were announced in a press release by BAJUS. The association cited a decline in the local market price of pure (tejabi) gold as the reason for the adjustment.

According to the new prices, 22-carat gold will now cost Tk 2,41,445 per tola, 21-carat gold Tk 2,30,481 per tola, 18-carat gold Tk 1,97,530 per tola, and traditional (sonaton) gold Tk 1,60,905 per tola.

Previously, on the afternoon of 19 March, BAJUS had reduced the price of 22-carat gold by Tk 7,698, setting it at Tk 2,46,927 per tola.

This marks yet another significant drop in gold prices in the domestic market within a short period.
