The venue for the publication of the 2026 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examination results has been changed, the Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee said in a revised notice issued on Thursday (October 29).

According to the notice signed by committee President Professor Syed Akhtaruzzaman and Convener Professor Jesmin Taslima Banu, the results publication ceremony will be held at 11am on October 31 in the meeting room of the Secondary and Higher Education Division under the Ministry of Education.

The ceremony will be inaugurated by Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister Dr ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon.

The chairman of the Dhaka Education Board said only the venue had been changed. The results will be published simultaneously online and through the respective educational institutions as soon as the ceremony is inaugurated.

An earlier notice had stated that the ceremony would take place at the International Mother Language Institute in Segunbagicha, Dhaka.

The revised notice said educational institutions would be able to download their respective result sheets through designated websites, while candidates would also be able to obtain their results via SMS.

Educational institutions have been instructed to collect the results published by the education boards through eduboardresults.gov.bd and educationboardresults.gov.bd. Institutions have been advised to visit the Result section of the websites and download the results using the relevant board and institution's EIIN.

Candidates will also be able to collect their results from their respective educational institutions or access them through the two common education board websites and the websites of the respective education boards.

To obtain results by SMS, candidates can send a message from any mobile phone number to 16140. The message must follow this format: HSC, followed by a space, the first three letters of the board's name, another space, the roll number, another space, and the examination year.

For example, a candidate should type HSC Dha 123456 2026 and send it to 16140.

The notice clarified that results would not be available at education boards, the Ministry of Education or newspaper offices.

Applications for re-scrutiny of results will be accepted online from November 1 to November 7. The application process and relevant instructions will be published on the education boards' websites.

The HSC and equivalent examinations began on July 2 this year. Written examinations were scheduled to end on August 8, but several examinations under the Chattogram Education Board could not be held as scheduled due to natural disasters. Following the rescheduling of the postponed examinations, written tests under the board concluded on September 9.

A total of 1,270,583 regular and irregular candidates sat the examinations this year.
