BAU Students Launch New Social Media Platform ‘BAUbrainium’

For the first time, students of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) have developed their own social networking platform—‘BAUbrainium’. This innovative digital knowledge-based community has been created with the vision of building a unified platform within the university by three talented students from the Department of Bioinformatics Engineering, Faculty of Agricultural Engineering and Technology.
The creators behind this initiative are AKM Fazle Hasan Rabbi Noor, Mohammad Fahad Hasan, and Md. Didarul Anwar Afif from the 2022-23 academic session, working together under the team name ‘Team Tinustad’.
The team explained that the platform aims to bring together students, faculty members, and alumni of the university in one digital space. BAUbrainium’s core purpose is to foster a knowledge-sharing community by archiving inspirational messages from teachers, real-life higher education and career experiences from alumni, and advice for junior students.
Highlighting some of its key features, the developers noted that the platform offers ‘secret messaging’ for friends, allows teachers to post brief motivational notes, and enables seniors to provide guidance to juniors, among many other functionalities.
Built with data encryption and hosted on a secure server using ExonHost to mitigate any risk of data theft, Didarul Afif emphasized, “We have taken the utmost care to ensure data security. Since we do not collect sensitive information, protecting data integrity is more straightforward.”
The team further said, “Although information about BAU circulates on Facebook and other platforms, there has never been a centralized, dedicated communication channel. We are stepping in to fill that gap. BAUbrainium is more than just social media—it’s a space for BAUians to express their pride and passion.”
Currently, BAUbrainium is in its beta phase, running a one-month trial period. The web version can be accessed at www.baubrainium.xyz, while the mobile app is available at www.tinustad.xyz/baubrainium.apk. The full version is expected to launch soon.
Regarding future developments, the creators revealed plans to incorporate class schedules, real-time bus tracking, academic calendars, official notices, campus news, job and internship postings, department-wise discussion forums, and more. However, implementation of these services will require approval from the university administration.
“Since we are still learning technically, we ask users to be patient with any mistakes or glitches. We have included a Help and Support option in the app for assistance,” the team added. Team Tinustad invites all BAU students, faculty, and alumni to join the platform and help build a vibrant digital student community.
