Cumilla to Become a Division: Prime Minister

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has stated that the country must be rebuilt anew, prioritizing national interest above all else. He made the remarks on Saturday (May 16) during a street rally organized at the Lakshmipur Bazar ground in Barura upazila, Cumilla.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the nation belongs to everyone, and the administration is committed to fulfilling the promises made to the public. He noted that the citizens voted based on the plans presented to them, and those pledges will be implemented systematically.

During the rally, when the gathered crowd chanted slogans demanding the declaration of Cumilla as a formal administrative division, Tarique Rahman responded favorably, stating that if everyone shares this unified demand, it will be implemented.

Earlier, the Prime Minister arrived on stage at around 11:15 AM amid thunderous applause from supporters, acknowledging the greetings of the activists and leaders by waving his hand.

Following the rally, the scheduled itinerary included the inauguration of the re-excavation of the 'Khorda Khal' at Uaruk Bazar in Shahrasti Upazila, Chandpur, followed by the commencement of re-excavation work for the 'Biswa Khal' at Kumarduli village under Shah Mahmudpur Union in Chandpur Sadar Upazila.
