GST cluster adds new D unit for architecture admissions

The General, Science and Technology (GST) cluster admission system will introduce a separate unit for architecture for the 2026-27 academic year, with admission tests for 20 participating universities scheduled to begin on March 19 and end on March 27.

For the first time, admission tests will be held under four units. Unit A will be for science students, Unit B for humanities, Unit C for business studies and the new Unit D for architecture.

According to the announced schedule, the Unit B test will be held on March 19, while the Unit C and Unit D tests will take place on March 20. The Unit A test is scheduled for March 27.

Until the 2025-26 academic year, GST admission tests were held under three units: A, B and C. The architecture admission test was held on the same day as the Unit A test.

Prof Dr Golam Rabbani, co-convener of the main admission committee for the 2026-27 academic year and vice-chancellor of Noakhali Science and Technology University, confirmed the introduction of the separate architecture unit to The Daily Campus.

“Two universities in the GST cluster, Pabna University of Science and Technology and Gopalganj Science and Technology University, offer architecture. This year, the admission test for the subject will be held under a separate unit and at a separate time.”

In the 2025-26 academic year, the Unit A and architecture admission tests were held on the same day, in the morning and afternoon sessions respectively. The Unit B and C tests were conducted separately.
