Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University to lead cluster admission process, test set for January 2

The admission test for first-year undergraduate programmes at public universities under the agriculture cluster system will be held on January 2, 2027, with Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU) leading this year’s admission process.

SAU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Abdul Latif said the university would give the highest priority to ensuring that the admission test is conducted smoothly, transparently and fairly.

The university will take all necessary preparations so that applicants can sit for the examination without disruption and in a proper environment, he said.

Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University will be responsible for organising and coordinating the agriculture cluster admission test. Coordination is already underway among the participating universities over the examination date and other aspects of the admission process.

Details on eligibility, the application process, number of seats, examination time and centres will be announced later by the admission test committee.

Under the agriculture cluster system, students are admitted through a centralised process to public universities specialising in agriculture and related fields. The system attracts a large number of applicants from across Bangladesh each year.

Nine universities participated in the cluster admission process in the last academic year. They were Bangladesh Agricultural University, Gazipur Agricultural University, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Patuakhali Science and Technology University, Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Sylhet Agricultural University, Khulna Agricultural University, Habiganj Agricultural University and Kurigram Agricultural University.
