BUET undergraduate admission test set for January 16

The Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) will hold its undergraduate admission test for the 2026-27 academic year on January 16, 2027, the university announced on Monday (September 7).

The date was announced in a notice issued by BUET on Monday, following a final decision at the university’s Academic Council meeting on Sunday (September 6).

The university has decided to select admission candidates through a written examination this year as well. However, the notice did not provide details about the admission application process or examination procedure.

For the 2025-26 academic year, BUET did not hold a preliminary screening test. Eligible candidates were selected through a written examination.

BUET admission test date 2027

The BUET undergraduate admission test will be held on January 16, 2027, for students seeking admission in the 2026-27 academic year.

More than 10 universities have already announced their admission test schedules for the 2026-27 academic year.

The University of Dhaka, Khulna University and the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) are scheduled to hold their admission tests in December 2026.

Rajshahi University, Jagannath University, Chittagong University and Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) are scheduled to hold their admission tests in January and February 2027.
