The admission test for the Fine Arts Unit under Dhaka University’s (DU) 2026–27 undergraduate session will take place on Tuesday, December 22, 2026, featuring a dedicated one-hour practical drawing examination alongside a general knowledge Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) segment.

According to decisions finalized during Sunday’s General Admission Committee meeting chaired by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. A B M Obaidul Islam, the Fine Arts Unit test will follow a specialized 100-mark evaluation structure designed to assess both theoretical knowledge and artistic skill. The test comprises a 40-mark MCQ section allotted 30 minutes, followed immediately by a 60-mark practical drawing test spanning 60 minutes (one hour), bringing total exam duration to 90 minutes.

Unlike the three major undergraduate units—Science, Arts, Law and Social Sciences, and Business Studies—which will take place across eight divisional university centers, the Fine Arts Unit admission test will be conducted centrally on the Dhaka University campus due to the specialized logistics required for drawing examinations.

Applicants seeking entry into the Faculty of Fine Art must have passed their SSC or equivalent examinations between 2021 and 2024 and their HSC or equivalent examinations in 2026. Candidates are required to hold a minimum combined GPA of 6.5 across SSC and HSC exams, with at least a 3.0 individual GPA in each. Online applications will open on November 11 and close on November 25, 2026.
