The undergraduate admission test for the Arts, Law and Social Sciences Unit at Dhaka University (DU) for the 2026–27 academic session will take place on Saturday, December 19, 2026.

The schedule was finalized during a meeting of the university's General Admission Committee chaired by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. A B M Obaidul Islam at the Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban. The online application portal for all undergraduate units will open on November 11 at 12:00 PM and close at 11:59 PM on November 25, 2026. The Arts, Law and Social Sciences examination will run for 90 minutes, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM.

Applicants will be evaluated on a total scale of 120 marks, where 100 marks are assigned to the admission examination and 20 marks are calculated from SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent GPA scores. The test format features a 60-mark Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) section spanning 45 minutes and a 40-mark written examination spanning 45 minutes.

Humanities stream applicants must possess a minimum combined GPA of 7.5 across their SSC (2021–2024) and HSC (2026) examinations, with a minimum individual GPA of 3.0 in each exam. The Arts, Law and Social Sciences Unit also provides cross-unit application opportunities for candidates from other academic backgrounds: Science stream applicants seeking to enter the unit require a minimum combined GPA of 8.0 (with at least 3.5 individually), while Business Studies applicants require a minimum combined GPA of 7.5 (with at least 3.0 individually).

To ease candidate mobility and travel expenses, the Arts, Law and Social Sciences Unit examination will be conducted simultaneously across eight divisional university centers, including Dhaka University, Rajshahi University, Chittagong University, Barishal University, Khulna University, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Bangladesh Agricultural University, and Begum Rokeya University.
