DU to Evaluate Applicants on 120 Marks, Including SSC-HSC GPA

Dhaka University (DU) will continue evaluating candidates on a total of 120 marks for its 2026–27 undergraduate admission process, combining entrance test scores with candidates' past academic achievements.

Under the formula confirmed by the university's General Admission Committee, the written and multiple-choice entrance examination accounts for 100 marks, while the remaining 20 marks are derived from secondary and higher secondary academic results. The 20-mark score is calculated by multiplying the candidate's SSC (or equivalent) GPA by two and HSC (or equivalent) GPA by two.

To qualify for final merit ranking out of 120, candidates must satisfy section-wise minimum pass marks in both the MCQ and written parts of the 100-mark admission test. Candidates failing to clear individual sectional pass thresholds will be disqualified from merit evaluation, regardless of their total GPA points.

University officials emphasized that factoring in 20 marks from high school GPAs ensures a balanced selection process, honoring consistent academic performance during secondary education alongside aptitude demonstrated in the competitive entrance exam.
