DU Undergraduate Admission Applications Begin November 11

The online application process for undergraduate admissions at the University of Dhaka (DU) for the 2026–27 academic session will officially launch at 12:00 PM on November 11, 2026, and close at 11:59 PM on November 25. The schedule was approved on Sunday (August 2) during a meeting of the university's General Admission Committee, chaired by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. A B M Obaidul Islam at the Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban.

Admission tests for the 2026–27 session will be held across five units: 'Arts, Law and Social Sciences Unit', 'Science Unit', 'Business Studies Unit', 'Fine Arts Unit', and 'IBA Unit'. According to the schedule, the IBA Unit exam will take place on Saturday, December 5, followed by the Science Unit on December 12, the Arts, Law and Social Sciences Unit on December 19, the Fine Arts Unit (General Knowledge and Drawing) on December 22, and the Business Studies Unit on December 26.

Except for the IBA Unit—which runs from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM—all unit examinations will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Examinations for units other than Fine Arts and IBA will be conducted simultaneously in eight divisional centers, including Dhaka University, Rajshahi University, Chittagong University, Barishal University, Khulna University, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Bangladesh Agricultural University, and Begum Rokeya University.

The committee decided that tests for most units will consist of a 60-mark Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) section (45 minutes) and a 40-mark written section (45 minutes). The Fine Arts Unit exam will include a 40-mark MCQ test (30 minutes) and a 60-mark drawing exam (60 minutes), while the IBA Unit exam will feature 70 marks in MCQ (90 minutes) and 30 marks in descriptive questions (30 minutes). Candidate evaluation will be calculated out of 120 marks, with 100 marks assigned to the written/MCQ examination and 20 marks allocated based on SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent GPA results.

To apply, candidates must have completed their SSC or equivalent examinations between 2021 and 2024 and their HSC or equivalent examinations in 2026. Science Unit applicants require a minimum combined GPA of 8.0 (with at least 3.5 individually), while applicants for the Arts, Law and Social Sciences Unit and Business Studies Unit require a minimum combined GPA of 7.5 (with at least 3.0 individually). Fine Arts applicants require a minimum combined GPA of 6.5 (with at least 3.0 individually).

Cross-unit application criteria for students shifting streams have also been established. Furthermore, English-medium candidates applying to the Science Unit will receive a separate question paper tailored to their curriculum. Classes for the 2026–27 undergraduate session are set to commence on March 28, 2027.
