Nearly 3 Lakh Applications in GST Cluster Admission
Nearly 2.74 lakh students have applied for admission to the first-year undergraduate (honours) programmes in the 2025-26 academic session under the cluster system (GST) of 19 general and science & technology universities across the country.
According to the final count after the application deadline, a total of 2,73,554 admission seekers submitted applications across the three units, with the highest number of applications received in Unit ‘A’.
GST Cluster Admission Test Core Committee Secretary and Registrar of Islamic University, Professor Dr Monzurul Haque, confirmed this information on Thursday (1 January).
Dr Monzurul Haque said: “The application deadline for the 2025-26 academic session in the GST cluster of 19 general and science & technology universities has ended. A total of 2,73,554 applicants have applied across the three units. Of these, 1,59,189 applied in Unit ‘A’, 90,404 in Unit ‘B’, and 23,961 in Unit ‘C’.”
The application process for the 2025-26 session began on 10 December and was originally scheduled to end on 24 December at midnight. Later, the deadline was extended by six days until 30 December at midnight.
The GST cluster admission tests for the 2025-26 session will begin on 27 March with Unit ‘C’, followed by Unit ‘B’ on 3 April, and Unit ‘A’ on 10 April.
