Qawmi madrasa degree holders can now become nikah registrars: Asif Nazrul

Law Adviser Professor Asif Nazrul has announced that holders of recognised degrees from Qawmi madrasas will now be able to serve as nikah registrars (kazis).

He shared the information in a Facebook post on Sunday (7 December).

Professor Nazrul wrote, “From now on, recognised degree holders from Qawmi madrasas can become nikah registrars (kazis). Previously, this opportunity was limited only to persons holding Alim certificates.”

Stating that the Law Ministry has amended the relevant law to expand the provision, the adviser said, “From today, individuals holding the Dawra-e-Hadith certificate from a recognised Qawmi madrasa board will also be able to apply for the post.”
