President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said the younger generation and students will lead Bangladesh in the future, adding that they represent the vision of a new Bangladesh.

“Young people and students are the ones who will lead Bangladesh in the future. We see a new Bangladesh and new dreams in you,” he said on Monday, October 26, while meeting students from Motijheel Ideal School and College who visited Bangabhaban. President’s Press Secretary Md Sarwar Alam later shared the information.

The students visited Bangabhaban for the first time under the recently issued Bangabhaban Visit Policy for Students of Educational Institutions 2026. A selected group of top-performing students from grades seven to nine, along with teachers, took part in the visit under the leadership of the college’s principal, Professor Lal Mohammad.

During the visit, the students toured various facilities at Bangabhaban. The president later addressed them at the Durbar Hall and took part in a photo session with them. The students also had the opportunity to exchange greetings and engage in informal conversations with him.

Addressing the students, the president stressed the importance of respecting elders and teachers and remembering the sacrifices parents make for their children. He advised the students to always respect their parents, teachers and elders. He said that becoming well-educated and responsible citizens would fulfil not only their parents’ dreams but also the expectations of the nation.

The president said Bangabhaban was not merely a building but a symbol of the state and a witness to its history. Noting that students from different educational institutions would be brought to Bangabhaban in phases, he said, “This visit is intended to inspire your interest in Bangabhaban, the state and the future leadership of the country.”

He also urged students to develop skills in science and technology and pursue new innovations in the current age of information technology.

The president’s secretary, press secretary and other senior Bangabhaban officials were present at the meeting.
