Motijheel Ideal School Sees GPA-5 Decline Despite 98.02% Pass Rate

Motijheel Ideal School and College has maintained a strong academic standing in the 2026 Secondary School Certificate examinations, registering a pass rate of 98.02 percent, though the number of top-tier GPA-5 achievers experienced a slight decline compared to the previous year.

The detailed results were officially announced by Principal Professor Lal Mohammad during a briefing at the institution on Monday afternoon, August 10. According to school records, a total of 2,782 students registered for the public examinations this year, with 2,778 candidates ultimately appearing for the tests. Out of those who sat for the examinations, 2,723 students successfully passed.

Among the successful candidates, 1,490 students secured the highest grade point of GPA-5. This marks a decrease from the previous year, when 1,549 students achieved the top grade, representing a drop of 59 GPA-5 recipients. The candidate pool this year comprised 2,541 students from the science department and 241 students from the business studies department.

Reflecting on the institutional performance, Principal Professor Lal Mohammad credited the collaborative efforts of the school community.

"To ensure quality education, teachers, students, and parents have worked tirelessly. In addition, the overall supervision and cooperation of the managing board have played an important role behind these good results. I thank the teachers, guardians, and everyone involved for the students' success, and we will continue working to further improve educational standards in the future."

In the preceding 2025 academic cycle, Motijheel Ideal School and College saw 2,640 candidates participate in the SSC examinations, achieving a pass rate of 97.95 percent with 1,549 GPA-5 recipients, which included 1,509 out of 2,234 science students and 40 out of 352 business studies students, while 54 candidates failed.

The local institutional outcomes unfold against the backdrop of national SSC statistics for 2026, which recorded an overall countrywide pass rate of 62.25 percent and 116,676 total GPA-5 achievers across eleven education boards. Nationally, 669 institutions achieved a 100 percent pass rate, while 312 institutions recorded zero passes. A total of 1,857,344 students registered for the 2026 secondary examinations nationwide, encompassing 1,418,318 candidates under the nine general education boards, 304,286 under the madrasah board for Dakhil, and 134,660 under vocational technical streams.
